Daily Practices for A Fulfilling Life

How do we live a fulfilling life? Like anything else, it takes practice to cultivate ongoing happiness and live a fulfilling life eventually. In a sense, we must reset our baseline to operate in a certain way day in and day out. It will not happen overnight, but here are the top 5 things you can do every day to discover the secrets to live a fulfilling life.

  1. Pray
Prayer helps us be humble and be sensitive to positive affirmations. Through prayer, we come to realize how large the world is and how minor our problems are compared to it. When praying for other people we tend to sympathize with others’ problems rather than be selfish. When praying positively, we tend to see a change in our overall attitude making us feel happy both mentally, physically, and socially.
  2. Meditation
Numerous studies have proven the benefits of regular meditation. These can include decreased stress, improved concentration, lower blood pressure, and reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression, just to name a few. However, the biggest benefit that I personally have benefitted from is connecting with my inner self and aligning with the energy of the universe.
  3. Positive Thoughts
Is your glass half-empty or half-full? How you answer this age-old question about positive thinking may reflect your outlook on life, your attitude toward yourself, and whether you are optimistic or pessimistic — and it may even affect your health. Filtering unwanted thoughts & staying away from negative vibes is crucial to our mental health. When your state of mind is generally optimistic, you are better able to handle everyday stress more constructively. That ability may contribute to the widely observed health benefits of positive thinking.
  4. Gratitude
Find ways to cultivate gratitude daily. Giving thanks and being grateful for all you have will make you happier and more content. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what you have received in life. Those gifts may be tangible or intangible. When you spend time, each day acknowledging all that is good in life, you will see there is better than you realize, and you will find that sadness, anxiety , and depression are diminished.
  5. Helping Others
Helping others feels good! Giving to others, whether through donations or volunteering, eases stress and produces many of the mental and physical health benefits associated with exercise. Whenever you can, just “give”, whatever that may be – time, love, efforts, money, guidance, etc. When you give, big or small, it creates a ripple effect – it inspires others to reach out in kindness. This “pay it forward” effect is wonderfully contagious! You know it is working when you see the smile on the face of someone you have just helped. Take a moment. Make someone smile!

Remember that “being happy” is like “developing a muscle”. The more you exercise it, the better it would develop. It will be difficult in the beginning but with practice and determination, you can train your brain to be happy & living a fulfilled life. Until next stay safe, stay productive.
